See the depth of field on the GR IV's 28mm-equivalent lens. Set the aperture and snap distance, drag the subject, and watch when it falls inside the sharp zone. The Legendary Setting button jumps to f/8 at 2m.
At f/8 the GR IV hyperfocal distance is about 2.1m. That is exactly why the 2m snap setting works at f/8: focus near the hyperfocal point and everything from roughly one metre to infinity is acceptably sharp. Open the aperture wide and watch the green zone collapse, which is why snap focus is a daylight technique, not a night one.
